The readers of this magazine are largely responsible for its success. Obviously you could say the same thing about every magazine, because they only remain in print as long as they have readers, but that's not the point. As soon as Shelly’s readers started calling themselves “Stoners" everybody wanted to know what all the fuss was about. From that point on the gateway was wide open. People everywhere were stickin' it in their proverbial pipe and proverbially smokin' it. One could say that her fanbase grew at the speed of weed. A specific weed, and not the one you’re thinking of. Dandelion, actually. Why? Because all she had to do was sit there and wait while word got out and the wind itself did all the work.
