The Red Rainbow Series

From the Lobby to the Roof, here is my attempt at portraying the inside of this building we call The Red Rainbow.

^ THE LOBBY ^

I remember the first time I walked in here, I was waiting for a friend to meet me and I was too nervous to go anywhere by myself so I sat down on the couch and played my GamePerson. One too many Game Overs later I looked up and saw the goat. I hate that stupid goat. But he's a cute little guy. I don't care what he says.

^LEVEL 1^

It's hard to believe I live here now. I've literally never loved anything more.

^LEVEL 2^

I'm not squeamish when it comes to games. DOOM is one of my favorites. But when it comes to real life I'm a scaredy cat, so I never go to the second level unless I absolutely must. I went up there once to see if Rick wanted to get lunch, and I was chased all the way to his door--he lives almost to the end of the hall--by this red-eyed shadow man in a hat that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I hated it. Never Again. Now I just communicate with Rick via the WaV. Whether you ask a person to go to lunch in person or telepathically it makes no difference.

^LEVEL 3^

Level 3 is great. I applied to live up here actually, but after my assessment Management decided I was better suited to Level 1. In the end He was definitely right. But, that doesn't mean I can't treat it as my second home. We invented this game up there where three of you pick three books and then read from them at random. We call it The Lazy Fair. It's f--kin great, you should try it.

^LEVEL 4^

I love the band level. A few weeks ago I met Riley Black, who was already in Relatively Hot Moms at the time, and we went up there to one of the empty rooms and started jammin. He played bass and I was on drums. The second practice He brought Julian Jackson--his cohort in the Moms--to play guitar. Next thing you know we decided to call ourselves Girls With Accents. We've only got one song so far but, its pretty good. Prettyyyy gooooood.

^LEVEL 5^

No gonna lie I go up to Level 5 almost every night. It's awesome. They have several variations on what you might think of as a 'Theater'. One of them is old fashioned. 50's style, real fancy. Next is Modern and dingy like it should be, but with nice seats that go back and more cupholders. The other is a dome, and the last is immersive reality.

In the last one you can see films or television series from any character's point of view. It's nutty.

THE ROOF

Don't get me started on the roof. I love it for sure, but it's a bit much for casual visits. I don't even want to mention who I saw come out of the sky last time I went up there.

This very expensive masterpiece was meticulously crafted to look exactly like the thousands of photos satellites take in order to hash together a single picture of the Earth.

I don’t really know what this one means, which makes it exceedingly valuable. I guess you’ll just have to look at it and decide for yourself.

The Flip of The Bird

I once heard Dillon say the following:

“To say that the third Festival of Disruption was the most disruptive of all the disruptive festivals would be an understatement. Which is ironic.”

How that relates to the piece I don’t know. But that’s how I got the idea.

The Abduction of Karl Frederic Johnson

This is a depiction of a fictional event representing a real event that didn’t officially happen in real life. Either way, KFJ’s last words were, “I’m don’t think I’m human at all.”

There’s a story behind this piece, but it’s impossible to tell for obvious reasons.

Two Lights Left On In a Building At Night

Most people say this piece is reminiscent of the well known classic, POLAR BEAR IN A SNOWSTORM. I don’t think that at all. I think they’re totally different; not even in the same league. This piece has far more detail, for starters.

Portal Jump

This piece was inspired by the idea of slipping on a banana peel. But instead of a banana, it’s a Stargate, and instead of slipping, you turn into light and shoot across the universe. How that could possibly happen accidentally I don’t know.

DERKLAND

DERKLAND is a magical place where hillbilly and fantasy characters co-exit peacefully. The main reason for this peaceful existence is that in DERKLAND a person’s visual field is only as big as their own brightness. As far as the hillbillies were concerned, everything past the liquor store was simply pitch darkness, but one fateful day an especially dumb hillbilly went out on a quest to find out once and for all why the world was so gosh dern derk.
