Sacred Art

It's 2027. Artificial Intelligence has been composing literary works by request for years. We were into it for a long time. A few movies were made out of the books, franchises were born, it was science fiction heaven. The problem was, they were limited to that single genre. The Scientists were all, "Deal is, we'll have 'em do Space Westerns only, and we won't use real names for the aliens." But we all knew that was some bull$h-t. So there was a petition, and people actually boycotted the release of The Outer Space Place, and it's sequel, We've Got Big Plans. Not that you know what those are, but whatever. Now, the money train has run out for The Scientists, and they're desperate. So, we’ve convinced them to have the Artificial Author write a tantalizing piece of literature based on something entirely else. The result, is this: The Rpocaypnoh; a philosophical oddity written by a computer. Don't bother trying to pronounce the name. It’s spelled incorrectly. At first we thought it was a glitch. But, The Scientists assured us that it was entirely by design. Personally, I don't believe that, I think it's a cop-out for having a botched algorithm, but there are people who do believe it, so you'll have to decide for yourself.

When asked whether or not they understand the text, people say this:

β€œOh...I don’t know. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t.”
— Heathen
β€œI read it and I think, what the actual fβ€”k, is this.”
— One of the Chosen

You could check out this interview with the scientists who brought it about, or if you’re FEELIN' BRAVE...
